new year - new layouts

I finally started my Colorado album on Saturday! I had so much mojo flowing for these 2 pages but then I completely lost all inspiration. That's ok though, I skype'd with my Peachy BFF Cori and watched her crank out pages!

On with the layouts...

"roadtrip"

I bought this Little Yellow Bicycle die cut paper before we even left for our vacation. I knew I wanted to take pictures of our travels and thought it would be perfect! I love, love, love the embossing in the upper right corner and how it resisted some of the ink on the title. Adds a lot of texture! I did cut the paper down a bit. It had a double blue line and was just too big for the look I wanted. I distressed and inked all the edges with one of my favorite shades of Distress Ink - Weathered Wood. The sketch is from the KaiserCraft blog.

This second layout is from the PageMap blog. I didn't get my layout photographed in time to submit it for the contest though :( I just know the dino-footprints would have put me in the running for the prize! They are a little rough since I free-hand painted them (and I'm no painter) but I think they add so much personality! I only used pictures of Nolan on this layout because this was his FAVORITE place we visited. (I plan to do layouts for E & J with their favorite places)

Paper is Basic Grey Archaic.
